IAS officer Dharam Pal has been appointed as adviser to the administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh, according to a recent Government notification.
“Consequent upon repatriation from central deputation, Dharam Pal is hereby posted in Chandigarh as adviser with immediate effect,” according to the transfer notification which highlighted the transfer order being issued on June 21 and Pal joining duty in Chandigarh on June 23.
Pal, who is a 1988-batch Indian Administrative Services officer and alumnus of Punjab Engineering College, represents the Arunachal Pradesh-Goa-Mizoram-Union Territory (AGMUT) cadre.
He was earlier the additional secretary in the Department of Fertilisers under the Union ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers, New Delhi.
Pal replaces Manoj Parida, who was transferred to Delhi on June 17, six months before the completion of his three-year tenure. Meanwhile, Parida will be taking over as the chairman of the National Authority of Chemical Weapons Convention.
