The executive chairperson of Toyota South Africa Motors Dr Johan van Zyl 63, has died due to Coronavirus. Quoting a spokesperson Carmag reported that he died of Covid-19 complications, at a Pretoria hospital. Van Zyl, who was born in Springs in Gauteng in June 1958, had a long career with the auto manufacturer - having started at Toyota South Africa Motors in 1993 as the director for the sales and dealer network, Carmag reported. He was appointed CEO of Toyota SA in 2003. A decade later, he was promoted to become CEO of Toyota in Africa. In recent years, he served as managing officer of Toyota Motor Corporation and in 2015 he was appointed CEO of Toyota Motor Europe - until his retirement in early 2021. Intisar Al Sharrah, one of Kuwait’s foremost actresses in television and theatre, has died aged 59. Reports said that Al Sharrah died on Saturday in London, after travelling to the UK capital in July to seek medical treatment. From past two years, she was suffering from stomach and kidney problems. She was admitted to the intensive care unit of Kuwait's Al Amiri Hospital in November following surgery to remove stomach ulcers. Al Sharrah’s death was announced by Kuwait's Ministry of Information. Shahram Kashani, 47, Iranian pop singer has died after contracting Covid-19 in Istanbul, Turkey. According to reports,  Kashani, a certified pop sensation since his debut nearly 30 years ago, apparently caught COVID-19 while hospitalized and receiving treatment for liver problems. Born in 1974 in Rome, Italy, Kashani—his first name is sometimes transliterated into English as "Shahrum" and his nickname among fans was "Shahram K"—released his first album, K-One, in 1992. Kashani came to prominence in part through support from other Iranian celebs like Los Angeles-based singer Leila Forouhar, but his fame among Iranians was long-lasting thanks in part to his on-stage and on-screen charisma.

Veteran athlete Debanand Patra 90, has passed away after a brief illness at his home in Phulbani town in Kandhamal district of Odisha. Patra, who was also a retired police officer is survived by three daughters and two sons. Quoting Phulbani Municipality Executive Officer Baladev Behera news agency PTO reported that he had tested positive for COVID-19 a few days earlier and was undergoing treatment at his home. He had participated in national events in various categories of athletics and was felicitated by the state government and Kandhamal district administration.

Senior Judicial Magistrate of Jhalokathi district in southern Bangladesh Mosammat Sania Aktar has died of Covid-19. According to report published in Dhaka Tribune, the 28-year-old breathed her last while undergoing treatment at the Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMCH) in Barisal at around 10:30am on Wednesday. Sania, who was also seven months pregnant, tested positive for the deadly virus on July 12. Sania was born on August 1, 1992, in Hoglakanda village under Araihazar upazila in Narayanganj.  She joined the judicial services on March 1, 2018, through the 10th Bangladesh Judicial Service Examination. A California man who mocked Covid-19 vaccines on social media has died after a month-long battle with the virus. According to reports, Stephen Harmon, 34, died on Wednesday at Corona Regional Medical Center, about an hour east of Los Angeles. Prior to his hospitalization, Harmon shared a series of jokes on social media about vaccines. “I got 99 problems but a vax ain’t one,” he wrote in June on Twitter. An octogenarian father committed suicide by jumping off his condominium balcony in Bangkok in the wee hours of July 4.  The 84-year-old distraught parent killed himself over the death of his 57-year-old daughter, who was suffering from Covid-19.  The body was discovered by police in the morning, who also found the dead body of the daughter – Pranee – lying on a bed inside the condominium in Bangkok’s Ratchathewi district. UAE doctors helped a Filipino mom deliver her infant of seven months after the mother had been in a critical condition due to complications brought about by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19). 28-year-old Grace Joy Tiglao had been intubated as she had severe breathing problems and decided with the help of UAE specialists to undergo a cesarian procedure in order to save her baby, as per reports from GMA News.
