Doctor, 29, who delayed wedding to fight virus, dies

A young Chinese doctor who had delayed his wedding to fight the Covid-19 virus in Wuhan, the epicentre of the outbreak, died on February 20), less than a month after he was hospitalised, Chinese media reported. 

Peng Yinhua, 29, was supposed to be married on Feb 1, but postponed his nuptials to fight the outbreak.

The doctor of pulmonary and critical care at First People’s Hospital in Wuhan’s Jiangxia district was hospitalised on Jan 25, having contracted the virus in his frontline efforts fighting Covid-19, said a post on the Facebook page of The People’s Daily newspaper.

On Feb 1, the original date of his wedding before the epidemic struck, his condition worsened and he was taken to the intensive care unit.
