The New York Times’ tribute to US victims of Covid-19
As the Covid-19 death toll nears 100,000 victims in the United States, The New York Times listed 1,000 people’s names on its front page in May 24 edition.
The newspaper’s first two pages display a sprawling list of obituaries that represent only 1% of the nearly 100,000 deaths. The entries list victims’ names, ages, where they were from and sometimes their job, a hobby they enjoyed or a fact about them.
