Dr Arun Sharma, the senior medical officer (SMO) of India’s Amritsar Civil Hospital, died on August 30, 2020, at a private hospital from Covid-19 and underlying comorbidities. Dr Sivaramakrishna Iyer Padmavati, a pioneering cardiologist who had established the country’s first cardiac care unit at Delhi’s Govind Ballabh Pant hospital, died of the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) in the night on August 29, 2020. Dr Mir, a resident of Pampore area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, passed away in the morning on August 9, 2020, at SKIMS Soura, they said.
