Dr Dimitris Kremastinos ‑ a Greek politician who served as an MP ‑ died after suffering from COVID-19 on May 8, 2020. He was 78.
Greece’s former health minister, cardiologist and university professor Dimitris Kremastinos was a widely respected doctor who became a household name in Greece as the personal physician of late Prime Minister Andreas Papandreou in the mid-1990s.
He was admitted to Athens’ Evangelismos hospital on March 26. He died on May 8 after being in the intensive care unit for COVID-19.
