G.V.R. Prasada Raju selected as new VC of JNTU-Kakinada

Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU-Kakinada) Rector Prof. G.V.R. Prasada Raju has been appointed as the new JNTU-Kakinada Vice-Chancellor.

According to an appointment notification issued by Andhra Pradesh Governor and JNTU-K Chancellor Biswabhusan Harichandan on October 29, Prof. Prasada Raju has been appointed as the new JNTU-K Vice-Chancellor for the period of three years.

Joined as Assistant Professor in the Civil Engineering Department in 1989, Prof. Prasada Raju has previously served as the university Registrar and Principal.

Dr. G.V.R. Prasada Raju has more than 30 years of experience in teaching and research. He is an expert in Expansive Soils. He produced 7 Ph.D.’s and guiding 9 Ph.D. scholars.

He held different positions like Head of the Department, Vice-Principal, Controller of Examinations, Professor In-Charge, IQAC-JNTK, Director of Academic Audit, Director of Academic Planning, Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Registrar, Rector, and Principal & Executive Council Member for JNTUK Kakinada during his career.

He has published more than 100 technical papers in National and International Journals and Conferences. He was the Convener PGECET twice and Convener for APGENCO & APTRANSCO as well.

He achieved the State Level Best Teacher Award for the year 2016 and got a prestigious Crop’s of Engineers Award constituted by the Institute of Engineers Journal.

He was involved in many challenging consultancy projects and presented the papers/chaired the technical secessions at the National/International Level. Being Chairman / Organizing Secretary he has conducted six seminars/conferences.
