Giovanni Battista Rabino, politician

Giovanni Battista Rabino –an Italian politician from the Christian Democracy party who served as member of the Chamber of Deputies from 1983 to 1992, then a single term, between 1992 and 1994, as Senator – died of Covid-19 on 12 March 2020.   He was born in Montaldo Scarampi, and served as mayor of the city between 2004 and 2009. Before his political career, Rabino was a trade unionist, active in Alessandria's Coldiretti branch.   Rabino died from COVID-19 at the Cardinal Massaja Hospital in Asti on 12 March 2020. His funeral was held two days later.

Iranian politician Mohammad Alavi Tabar‎, also known as Kiyavash– died on 10 March 2020. The Iranian politician was born in 1930 in Zanjan. He was a follower of jurisprudential Islam. Mohammad Alavi Tabar served as a member of the Iranian Parliament representing Ahvaz between 1980 and 1984, representing Abadan between 1984 and 1988. Mohammad Alavi Tabar died from coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on 10 March 2020. His funeral was held on 12 March.

Lee Cha-su –a South Korean politician and social activist – passed away on 9 March 2020 after contracting coronavirus.   He urged the relocation of the K-2 Air Force Base used with Daegu International Airport.   He served as the chairman of the Buk District Council. Lee died in Chilgok, Buk District, Daegu at the age of 62 as a result of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on 9 March 2020.

Rahbar was elected to serve in the Parliament for the fourth time but died before the start of her fourth term. Rahbar earned a master's degree in visual communication and a Ph.D. degree in strategic management. Hossein Sheikholeslam –an Iranian conservative politician and diplomat who was advisor to the foreign minister Javad Zarif – died on 5 March 2020 from coronavirus. He also was a member of the Seventh Islamic Parliament of Iran and previously the Iranian ambassador to Syria. Sheikholeslam was Assistant to the parliament Speaker Ali Larijani for the International Affairs. Sheikholeslam was one of the students/militants who held Americans hostage during the Iran hostage crisis. Sheikholeslam died from coronavirus disease 2019 on 5 March 2020.

Seyyed Mohammad Mirmohammadi –an Iranian politician who served as the senior adviser to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and a member of Expediency Discernment Council – died due to coronavirus on 2 March 2020. He was the member of the 6th and 7th Iranian parliaments for Qom. Mohammad was a member of the central council of the Islamic Republic Party, presidential chief of staff during the presidencies of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, and secretary general of the Islamic Civilization Party. Mirmohammadi was born in Qom, Iran, in 1948. Mousa Shubairi Zanjani, a senior cleric, was his uncle. Mirmohammadi was appointed a member of the Expediency Discernment Council in August 2017. He also fought in the Iran–Iraq War. The cause of his death is disputed. The Iranian health ministry say it was due to influenza while other sources, including the BBC, had reported that he died from novel coronavirus.
