Basavaraj Karigoudar ‑ a physician working at Khiladgi Primary Health Centre in Mudhol Taluk of Bagalkot district of the south Indian state of Karnataka – died due to Covid-19 on June 25, 2020. The 30 years old doctor was infected with Hepatitis B after being pricked by a needle during his work at the hospital. After that, his condition worsened. He subsequently developed liver failure.
