Victor de Jesus – a Paediatrician at Hospital HIMA, Caguas, Puerto Rico – passed away on 10 April 2020 after suffering from COVID-19. Victor was 58 years old.
"He had been hospitalized for about three weeks and, from the beginning, he complicated himself and connected to a ventilator," said Dr. Víctor Ramos, president of the College of Surgeons of Puerto Rico.
Mr. Armando Rodríguez Benítez, president of the HIMA San Pablo Group , sent his condolences to the pediatrician's family.
“This death is a great loss for our institution. We offer our deepest condolences to his wife, family, friends and colleagues in his private practice. Our doctors fought tirelessly for their colleague, but this terrible disease was more powerful. In honor of him, we will continue working with the diligence and sense of responsibility that our patients need from us, to together continue the fight against this pandemic, ”he said.
