José Renato de Jesus aka Renato de Jesus ‑ a Brazilian Politician from the state of Rio de Janeiro – died from Covid-19 on June 15, 2020. De Jesus started his political career in 1992 when he was elected City councilor of Belford Roxo. He remained in City council from 1993 to 1995. In 1994, he decided to run and was later elected Member of the Legislative Assembly of Rio de Janeiro. He kept his post as a State Deputy for two consecutive tenures between 1995 and 2002 after being re-elected once in 1998. In 2002, he unsuccessfully attempted re-election. Miriam CantĂș de Llanes – a Paramedic, Radio Operator, 6th year Med Student at Red Cross, Monclova, Coahuila, Mexico – passed away on 11 May 2020, after suffering from COVID-19. During the last days Miriam CantĂș had fought against the Covid-19 hospitalized in the General Hospital of Zone Number 7 of the IMSS of Monclova, but unfortunately she could not win the battle. For a long time Miriam CantĂș served the community as a lifeguard for the Mexican Red Cross, mainly as a radio operator. In his honor, colleagues from the red cross made their last roll call and when they heard his name they all shouted in a single vox “Present”.
