Zoilo Marcelo Cruz Espinoza – a General Practitioner, University Professor at Hospital León Becerra, Guayaquil, Ecuador – passed away after suffering from COVID-19.
Zoilo Cruz, was born in Quevedo and moved to Guayaquil from a young age. He was a surgeon and worked at the León Becerra hospital, Luis Vernaza and other centers. Cruz was a professor at the School of Medicine of the University of Guayaquil and shared his knowledge with many generations. He was married, had two children and three grandchildren. He was also passionate about sports such as basketball, field tennis, chess and soccer, which he proudly represented as a union selection.
