Liu Shouxiang, painter
Liu Shouxiang –a Chinese watercolor painter and professor at the Hubei Institute of Fine Arts – died from Covid-19 on 13 February 2020.
His work won many awards and was collected by many art museums. He was also a member of the China Democratic League.
Liu was born in Wuhan. In 1981, he graduated from the Hubei Institute of Fine Arts in the Department of Fine Arts, majored in teaching. He stayed in school and served as the director of the Department of Fine Arts Education. In 1987, he founded the Department of Watercolor Painting in the Hubei Institute of Technology Teachers' Department.
