Jitendra Nath Pande or J. N. Pande ‑ Professor & Head of Medicine, All India Institute of Medical Studies (AIIMS) – passed away after contracting Covid-19 virus on 23 May 2020. He was working as Senior Consultant (Medicine) at Sitaram Bhartia Institute of Science & Research, New Delhi. Pande was born in Shikohabad, India, to Shri Madan Mohan Pande and Smt. Kamla Devi Pande. An Indian-origin cardiac surgeon who had tested positive for the novel coronavirus has died at a hospital in Cardiff in the UK, where a number of medics have lost their lives on the frontlines of the Covid-19 pandemic. Jitendra Kumar Rathod, associate specialist in cardio-thoracic surgery at the University Hospital of Wales (UHW), was described as an “incredibly dedicated surgeon” by his National Health Service (NHS) workplace.
