Md Lokman Hossain Mridham – the Faridpur district council chairman and Awami League district unit vice-president ‑ died from the new coronavirus at a Dhaka hospital in the morning of July 10, 2020. He was 77. Lokman, also a veteran freedom fighter, breathed his last at 11am at Sheikh Russel Gastroliver Institute & Hospital in Mohakhali while undergoing treatment there, said Faridpur Deputy Commissioner Atul Sarkar. Hossain was born c. 1950 in Bikrampur. He earned his MA and LLB degrees from the University of Dhaka. Hossain was a member of Advisory Council of Bangladesh Awami League.
