Ghulam Murtaza Baloch, politician

Ghulam Murtaza Baloch ‑ a Pakistani politician who had been a Member of the Provincial Assembly of Sindh, from September 2016 to June 2020 – died on 2 June 2020 after contracting Covid-19. He was elected to the Provincial Assembly of Sindh as a candidate of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) from Constituency PS-127 Karachi-XXXIX in by-polls held in September 2016. He was re-elected to Provincial Assembly of Sindh as a candidate of PPP from Constituency PS-88 (Malir-II) in 2018 Pakistani general election. On 15 October 2018, he was inducted into the provincial Sindh cabinet of Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and was appointed as Provincial Minister of Sindh for labour and human resources. Shaheen Raza Cheema ‑ a Pakistani politician who was a member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab from August 2018 to May 2020 ‑ died of Covid-19 on 20 May 2020. She was elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab as a candidate of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on a reserved seat for women in 2018 Pakistani general election and hailed from Gujranwala. Raza died in Lahore from COVID-19 on 20 May 2020. Reportedly, she caught the virus while visiting a field hospital for coronavirus treatment in Gujranwala. She was 60 years old at the time of her death and suffered from diabetes and blood pressure issues.

Noman Ahmed – a Personal Support Worker and an OPD Attendant at Al-Khidmat Hospital, Karachi, Pakistan – died on May 6, 2020, due to COVID-19. Noman was 32 years old. Noman Ahmed, worked as an attendant at Al-Khidmat Hospital in Orangi Town, run by Jamaat-i-Islami's charity wing. After he was diagnosed with the virus, he was admitted to an isolation ward at the Dr. Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi where he remained under treatment for 10 days. He was put on a ventilator but his health subsequently improved and he returned home after being discharged. Haji Allah Yar Ansari a Pakistani politician who was a member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab between 1997 and 1999 died on May 1, 2020, at the age of 77 due to COVID-19. Born in Khushab District, Allah Yar received his Intermediate in 1962 from the Government College Joharabad. He was elected to the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab in 1997. He was also businessman who was serving as the vice president of the Pakistan Muslim League and as president of Jamiat Al-Ansar since 1988. He served as a councillor in a municipal corporation in Sargodha from 1987 to 1997. Ansari remained quarantined at home, but was later shifted to hospital when his condition deteriorated and he succumbed to the virus.
