Hector Garrido Vecino – a Paediatrician in Ciudad Real, Spain – passed away after suffering from COVID-19. It was reported on 16 April, 2020. Hector was 59 years old.
Héctor Garrido Vecino, graduated as a surgeon from the Industrial University of Santander, with a specialization in Pediatrician from the UIS.
This 59-year-old health professional was a native of Barrancabermeja and had lived in Spain for 15 years, where he worked in a public hospital in Ciudad Real, south of Madrid.
Dr. Garrido was also an outstanding footballer and stood out as a great goalkeeper for the Santander team in the years 80, 81, 82 and 83, after graduating as a doctor from the UIS, he was working as a doctor for Atlético Bucaramanga.
He worked for many years as a general practitioner and then as a pediatrician at the former Social Insurance Institute, ISS, in Bucaramanga, when the entity was liquidated, he traveled to Spain with his family where he leaves his wife and two children.
