Jeremy Emerich, Emergency Medical Technician

Jeremy Emerich – an Emergency Medical Technician/Firefighter at Lehigh Valley Health Network, Allentown, Pennsylvania – passed away on 21 May, 2020, after suffering from COVID-19. Jeremy was 40 years old.

He joined the Army when he was 17 years old to fight for his country, he was a sergeant with the Exeter Township Fire Department and a critical care EMT with Lehigh Valley Health Network.

Melanie said her brother was healthy but had high blood pressure and allergies.

“When he went into the hospital, he went in with a fever, and we thought he was going to be OK,” she said.

 Dozens of emergency apparatus lined the roads in Berks and Lehigh counties as Emerich's body was escorted from the hospital to Bean Funeral Home in Sinking Spring. Lehigh Valley Hospital’s MedEvac helicopter also escorted Jeremy.
