Luis Augusto Chirighini Bicudo – an Orthopaedist, Santos, Brazil – passed away on 10 April 2020, after suffering from COVID-19. Luis was 74 years old.
He is the first health professional who died in Santos, on the coast of São Paulo, as a result of the new coronavirus and was considered a 'hero' by many colleagues and patients.
He was hospitalized in a serious condition at Ana Costa Hospital and had been diagnosed with the new coronavirus.
“What remains are only good memories of a wonderful man, with a huge heart, who has helped so many people and who deserved to live longer, but unfortunately it was not God's will," wrote the son.
