Jairo Bravo, a man who worked at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, died on August 1, 2020, from complications of COVID-19.
He is believed to be the first employee of Miami-Dade’s County’s detention system lost to the virus.
Jairo Bravo, 48, worked at TGK for less than a year. Before that, he spent three years with the Florida Department of Corrections.
His family lives outside of the country and is trying to get to Miami. Funeral arrangements are forthcoming.
