Yansi Ayala ‑ an 11-year-old girl in Broward County, Fort Lauderdale, died from complications of COVID-19 on July 8, 2020 at Broward Health Medical Center.
She had underlying conditions including cerebral palsy, epilepsy and asthma.
The state’s date said that her infection is not believed to be travel-related.
Ayala was reported to be the youngest Broward resident to die as a result of the virus.
