Ali Hadi Mohsin, footballer

Ali Hadi Mohsin ‑ an Iraqi professional football player and manager – died of Covid-19 on 12 June 2020. He played as a defender for Al-Zawraa and Al-Talaba, winning several titles with the clubs. He also played in Lebanon, for Al-Safa and Al-Ahed. Hadi also coached Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya in the 2016 AFC Cup, and led the Iraq national under-17 team to the 2018 AFC U-16 Championship.

Ompal Singh ‑ a principal at Government Boys Senior Secondary School in Delhi’s Kalyanpuri – succumbed to Covid-19 on June 11, 2020. The principal was deputed at a meal distribution centre since the anti-coronavirus lockdown began. Fifty-seven-year-old Ompal Singh was admitted to GTB Hospital on June 5. The vice-principal of the school, Shyam Lal, said: “Other members of Singh’s family have also been admitted to hospitals. Ajay Joshi, an Indore-based doctor who treated hundreds of coronavirus patients since the outbreak of the pandemic, had tested positive for the deadly virus on May 23 and was admitted to city's Choithram Hospital the next day. After batting the infection for over two weeks, Dr Joshi died at the hospital in the morning of June 10, 2020. Dr Joshi, who was the head of department of surgery and medical superintendent of Index Medical College in Madhya Pradesh's Indore, was 57 years old. J Anbazhagan, a MLA from India’s Tamil Nadu who had tested positive for coronavirus, died in a hospital in Chennai in the morning of June 10, 2020. Anbazhagan, 61, a DMK MLA, was admitted to hospital on June 2 over "severe acute respiratory distress" and had tested positive for COVID-19 at the time, reported NDTV. He was put on ventilator support on June 3 when his breathing trouble worsened. He was fighting acute pneumonia and his condition deteriorated on Monday evening, according to Dr Rela Institute and Medical Centre, where he was being treated, highlighted NDTV’s J Sam Daniel Stalin. The 70-year-old was tested positive for COVID-19 on June 10 and shifted to the hospital. Following this, he breathed his last at the hospital. Muhammad returned from Muscat via Kannur airport on May 22. Though the health workers directed him to observe quarantine at the hospital, he refused to follow it and went to his son’s house at Koothuparamaba. Sardar Dur Muhammad Nasir ‑ a Pakistani politician who was a member of the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan from May 2013 to May 2018 died on 8 June 2020 due to Covid-19. He was born on 15 September 1958 in Duki District, Pakistan. He did Matriculation. He was elected to the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan as a candidate of Pakistan Muslim League (N) from Constituency PB-14 Loralai-I in 2013 Pakistani general election. After Nasir contracted the coronavirus, he isolated himself at his residence in Duki. He was later shifted to a hospital in Karachi when his condition deteriorated, where he died on 8 June.

Wali Akhtar Nadwi, who was serving as the head of the Arabic department at the University of Delhi, succumbed to Covid-19 on June 9, 2020. As many as six private hospitals in Delhi and Noida had allegedly refused to admit the professor stating various reasons. On June 2, Akhtar had developed a fever flowing which the members of his family approached at least six hospitals including Fortis Hospital, Delhi’s Bansal Hospital, Moolchand Hospital and Holy Family hospital in Delhi and Kailash Hospital in neighbouring Noida in UP.
