After graduating from Leiden University, Prade returned to Suriname, and founded the short lived Nationale Volkspartij together with Ronald Venetiaan. Later Prade became a member of the Progressieve Nationale Partij. During the coup, Prade was a commentator on Suriname radio. Prade was the Surinamese ambassador to the Netherlands from 1981 to 1982. His political and undiplomatic statements were not appreciated by the regime and he was dismissed on 1 June 1982. In 1986, Prade became chairman of the Rekenkamer van Suriname [nl], a position which he held for about 10 years. Frida Wattenberg ‑ a member of the French Resistance – died on 3 April, 2020, due to COVID-19. Wattenberg was born in 1924 to Jewish parents from Poland. She grew up in The Marais quarter of Paris. She joined the Hashomer Hatzair movement in the late 1930s. During World War II, she studied at the Lycée Victor Hugo in Paris. Wattenberg also made several collages of posters for the French Resistance. In 1941, Wattenberg joined the Œuvre de secours aux enfants (OSE), for which she made false papers for Jewish people to escape to the south of France. Prof Mohamed Sami Shousha, 79, a father-of-two, died on April 2 in London after contracting the virus around two weeks earlier. “He was very keen on going to work on his final days despite the health hazards,” his nephew Abdelrahman Shousha told Middle Eastern Eye. “However, most likely, his work did not involve direct contact with Covid-19 patients.” Prof Shousha had been working at Charing Cross Hospital since 1978, where he managed the breast histopathology service, which concerns changes in tissues caused by disease.
