Stephen Schwartz –an American pathologist at the University of Washington – died due to coronavirus on March 17, 2020.   He researched vascular biology, investigating the structure of blood vessels and smooth muscle cells.   Schwartz received a Bachelor of Arts in biology from Harvard University in 1963 and a Doctor of Medicine from Boston University in 1967. He started a residency at the University of Washington in 1967, also receiving his Ph.D. in pathology from the institution in 1973. Jesús Vaquero Crespo ‑ a Spanish neurosurgeon ‑ died on 17 April 2020 due to COVID-19.    He was a pioneer on the treatment of medullary injuries. Born in Madrid in 1950, he became chief of Neurosurgery of the Hospital Puerta de Hierro in 1992. He was also full professor of the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM) and also held the Chair of Neuroscience of the Rafael del Pino Foundation.
