Grant Maganga – a Mental Health Nurse at Hurst Place in Ashton-under-Lyne, Manchester, Manchester, England – passed away on 20 April 2020 after suffering from COVID-19. Grant was 56 years old. Mr Maganga, who died aged 56, was a mental health nurse at Hurst Place, a rehabilitation unit for men with severe mental illness and complex needs in Ashton-under-Lyme, Greater Manchester. Having gained his registration in 2009, he had worked at the unit since it was first established 10 years ago. Trust director of nursing Clare Parker described Mr Maganga as an outstanding nurse whose death was “another tremendous loss” to the nursing community. “Grant was an exceptional nurse who cared deeply for his patients and lit up the room with his infectious smile and positive personality,” she said.
