An Eastern Carolina town Mayor William Stalls died in a hospital because of COVID-19 related complications. Quoting Oak City Town Clerk Vonetta Porter newspapers reported that he died on Sunday. We’re told that Stalls has been mayor for the past 10 years and involved in the town for decades.Town Hall will be closed this week, Porter said. Mayor Pro Tem Sue Harrell, who will be sworn in as acting mayor at next month’s commissioners’ meeting, said the 69-year-old Stalls had been in the hospital for three weeks. Stalls had 43 years of service with Oak City Fire-EMS Department, currently serving as an EMT as well as treasurer. A California man who mocked Covid-19 vaccines on social media has died after a month-long battle with the virus. According to reports, Stephen Harmon, 34, died on Wednesday at Corona Regional Medical Center, about an hour east of Los Angeles.
