Si Ahmed El Mahdi – a Professor in Department of Surgery, Hospital Frantz-Fanon de Blida, Algeria – passed away on 30 March, 2020, after suffering from COVID-19. Mahdi was 58 years old.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The announcement of the death of Pr Si Ahmed provoked an avalanche of reactions and comments on social networks. All internet users were unanimous in paying tribute to this gentleman who gave his life to save that of others. For their part, the employees of the surgery department of the University Hospital of Blida wrote in a moving message that “the family of Algerian surgery is in mourning. Dear father Professor Si Ahmed has just left us ”.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
