Betty Marlene Cruz Yagual – an Obstetrician at Centro de Salud Santiago de Guayaquil, Guayaquil, Ecuador – passed away on 10 April 2020 after suffering from COVID-19. Betty was 61 years old.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Her love for her profession led her to obtain a Master's degree in Public Health. She had a 29-year history in this sector, between the Santiago de Guayaquil Health Centers, number 13 and El Cisne 2.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Betty Cruz's family and friends remember her as a cheerful and supportive woman, who enjoyed her obstetric profession and the relationship with her patients.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

On April 7, she entered the Los Ceibos hospital of the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute (IESS) with respiratory symptoms and three days later she died at 61 years of age.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
