Charlie Chin Song Chen \u2013 a Family Medicine\/General Practitioner at Joseph P. Addabbo Family Health Center, New York City \u2013 passed away due to COVID-19.<\/p>\n

Dr. Chen served the Rockaway community and endeared himself to his many patients for more than 21 years as a Family Practitioner.<\/p>\n

Dr. Chen received his medical education at the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, MO, and was Board Certified in Family Medicine. During his 13 years with Addabbo, he earned the respect of his colleagues and was a sought-after and trusted physician with a tremendous patient following. He spoke four languages: English, Spanish, Chinese, and Japanese.<\/p>\n

During a recent interview, Dr. Chen commented \u201cit has been my honor and pleasure to have served the Rockaway community for more than two decades. I have taken care of many families in Rockaway over the years and have enjoyed watching them grow. Many of the patients I took care of as youngsters now have children of their own. That is an honor in itself.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDr. Chen\u2019s deep commitment to and love of his patients came through unequivocally. He was a gentle soul who provided comfort and care to the community for many years,\u201d said Miriam Y. Vega, Ph.D., CEO of Joseph P. Addabbo Family Health Center. \u201cHe will be sorely missed by his friends, colleagues, and patients.\u201d<\/p>\n
