Luis Bitar Mahuad – a Plastic Surgeon, Founder of Sociedad Ecuatoriana de Cirugía Plástica Reconstructiva y Estética, Judo Instructor at Hospital Luis Vernaza, Guayaquil, Ecuador – passed away on 13 April 2020 due to COVID-19. Luis was 82 years old.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

He was considered one of the pioneers in the sport of judo in Ecuador. He was a founding member of the Ecuadorian Society of Aesthetic Reconstructive and Plastic Surgery, Guayas chapter.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

He died in Guayaquil of a heart attack after a dialysis session, during the Ecuadorian quarantine due to the health crisis due to the coronavirus disease pandemic, on April 13, 2020, at the age of 82 years.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
