Nurse Ate Wilma Banaag worked at Watford General Hospital for almost two decades, after arriving in the UK from the Philippines in January 2001.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

A fundraising page set up in her memory describes her as ‘a much-valued staff nurse on the ward, a very caring, compassionate, soft-spoken and hard-working nurse’, adding that in her final working days she was caring for patients on a COVID-19 ward. ‘She was a devoted mother of three and a loving wife,’ it says.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
