Madhvi Aya – a Physician Assistant in Emergency Medicine at Woodhull Medical Center, Brooklyn, New York \u2011 passed away on 29 March, 2020, due to COVID-19. Madhvi was 61 years old.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Madhvi Aya, PA-C tragically passed away on March 29th, 2020 due to complications of Covid-19, at the age of 61. Madhvi proudly worked as a physician assistant in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Woodhull Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY for the past 12 years. She made great sacrifices working on the frontline for all of those years and during the current coronavirus pandemic.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Despite the imminent risk involved and amidst a nationwide shortage of personal protective equipment, she continued to work courageously and tirelessly to help the community as much as she could, all while supporting her close-knit family.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Madhvi was loved and respected by her colleagues as well as her patients. She was kind, thoughtful, and always willing to listen and give advice as the "mom" of the ER. She was especially protective over the younger PAs fresh out of school, taking them under her wing. This is truly a devastating loss and she will be sorely missed.
