Luiz Alves de Brito- a Licensed Practical Nurse who was a Nursing Technician in Mossoró, Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil – passed away due to COVID-19. Luis Alves de Brito was 48 years old. It was reported on April 2, 2020<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Luiz worked for 22 years as a nursing technician in the municipality of AreiaBranca, also in the West region. He was on duty at Sara Kubitscheck Hospital.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Luiz lived in the city for a few years, but about five years ago he returned to live in Mossoró, close to his family, after also starting to work at the Almeida Castro Hospital and Maternity.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Nursing technician Luiz Alves de Brito died in Mossoró with Covid-19.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

According to the family, about two weeks ago, Luiz started to feel symptoms of the disease and showed concern not to transmit it to anyone. "We all live close by, and he was always very open, but he started to isolate himself from everyone. He asked my aunt to bring him some lemons, but when she arrived at the house, he said it was not for her to come in, but to leave the bag in front, which he would take later. And he also ordered her to wash her hands well when she got home ", reported Marcelo.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

However, with the worsening of symptoms, the man was taken by the family to the Wilson Rosado Hospital on March 24. "He had no appetite, he was tired. In the hospital, they did an x-ray and saw that his lungs were compromised," says the nephew. On the same day, he was already admitted to the ICU. After showing some improvement, he was taken to a room, but returned to the ICU a few days later. Confirmation for Covid-19 came out on the 28th.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Nurse Lorena Ribeiro worked for two years with Luiz and reports that the professional was liked by co-workers and also by patients and residents of the city of AreiaBranca. "He was a calm, helpful person, he was wonderful. Not only me, but all colleagues say that. It's a very big, irreparable loss," she says.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

The nephew also reinforces his uncle's cheerful side. "He was willing to help everyone, he enjoyed life a lot, he liked to party, he had many friendships. Even though he was divorced, he lived close to his daughter and had a good relationship with his ex-wife", she points out.<\/p>\r\n\r\n
