Md. Sirajul Islam, a Bangladesh Awami League politician, succumbed to COVID-19 virus on 4 April,2020.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

He was elected a member of parliament from Undivided Sylhet-12 (present Maulvibazar-1) in 1973 and 1979. He was the organizer of the Liberation War of Bangladesh.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Sirajul Islam was born in 1943 in Barlekha Upazila of Moulvibazar District.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Sirajul Islam was elected to parliament from Undivided Sylhet-12(present Maulvibazar-1) as a Bangladesh Awami League candidate in 1973 and 1979.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Sirajul Islam died on 4 April,2020, undergoing treatment for COVID-19 at Elmhurst Hospital Center in  Queens, New York City.<\/p>\r\n<\/p>
