{"id":2160,"date":"2020-04-17T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2020-04-17T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/personmatters.com\/Remembering_Covid_19_Victims\/?p=2160"},"modified":"2020-06-12T15:02:03","modified_gmt":"2020-06-12T15:02:03","slug":"henry-miller-lawyer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/personmatters.com\/Remembering_Covid_19_Victims\/?p=2160","title":{"rendered":"Henry Miller, lawyer"},"content":{"rendered":" <figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img src=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/personmatters.com\/Remembering_Covid_19_Victims\/wp-content\/uploads\/imageholder\/uploads\/Henry_Miller.jpg?w=810\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-750\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n <p><p>Henry Miller \u2011 an American lawyer and jurist &ndash; died on April 16 2020 due to Covid\u201119.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Miller was a past president of the New York Bar Association, and the author of several books and articles on trial advocacy; he was known as an expert in trial lawyering.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Miller was born in Brooklyn, the son of Henry A. and Anne Withers Miller, on February 18, 1931.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>He attended St. John&#39;s College (class of 1952) and St. John&#39;s Law School (class of 1959).<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Miller was the senior partner of the law firm of Clark, Gagliardi &amp; Miller, P.C., where he practiced trial work starting in 1966. He was president of the Westchester Bar Association and the New York Bar Association, the largest voluntary bar association in the United States. He received many awards, including the lifetime achievement award from New York State Trial Lawyers Association in 2015.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Miller was rated by other lawyers as one of the top two trial attorneys in the Westchester County, New York area. Among his notable cases was In re Joint Eastern &amp; Southern Dist. Asbestos Litigation.
