Ernesto Macario Gutiérrez Vera was born in the city of Portoviejo , capital of the province of Manabí , Ecuador. His mother was Alina Vera Loor and his father was the Chonense Macario Gutiérrez Solórzano , rector of the Olmedo (Portoviejo) and Alejo Lascano ( Jipijapa ) schools , also Governor of Manabí, legislator and president of the House of Culture of Guayas.
