Thomas Moore, school principal

Thomas Moore, the former longtime principal of Perry Middle School, died on July 6, 2020, after a battle with COVID-19. Moore retired at the end of the 2016-17 school year after more than a decade as principal at the middle school. But for a generation of kids and parents, he was simply "Coach." He coached football, basketball, and baseball. Prior to serving in the school’s administration, Moore got his career start in 1986 as a teacher and football coach in Jones County. He was at Jones County High for three years before going to R.E. Institute in Upson County for seven years. Thomas Kunz, biologist

Thomas H. Kunz ‑ an American biologist specializing in the study of bats – died from Covid-19 on April 13, 2020. He was credited with coining the study of aeroecology; additionally, he wrote several fundamental textbooks and publications on bat ecology. Kunz grew up in Missouri. He credited his interest in biology to his fifth-grade teacher, who was passionate about silkworms. Kunz received a BA in biology in 1961 and MA in education in 1962 from the University of Central Missouri. He went on to receive another MA from Drake University in biology in 1968, and gained his PhD from the University of Kansas in systematics and ecology in 1971. Thomas Harvey – a Healthcare Assistant at North East London NHS Foundation Trust, London, England – passed away on 29 March, 2020, after suffering from COVID-19. Thomas was 57 years old.
