Talib Jauhari ‑ a Pakistani Islamic scholar, poet, historian and philosopher of the Shia Sect of Islam – died due to Covid-19 complications on 21 June 2020. Talib Jauhari supported ethnic and sectarian harmony his sermons used to be composed on observance of Allah's orders, pursuing the way of Prophet Muhammad and love and respect for Ahlybait. He was not only respected among the Shia community in the Indo-Pak Subcontinent but Sunnis also used to attend his lectures due to his Tafseer-e-Quran in a logical way. He was also a promoter of Shia Sunni unity in Pakistan.  "His book Hadees-e-Karabla is one of the few Maqtal written in Urdu and has been considered as one of the most well compiled sources to the traditions related to the Event of Karbala." ...

Avrohom Pinter, religious scholar

Avrohom Pinter an English rabbi and a leading figure in the Haredi community in Stamford Hill, London died in London of COVID-19 on 13 April 2020. Pinter was also a local government politician who served as a Labour councillor on the Hackney Borough Council (Northfield ward, elected 1982 and 1986). He also represented Haredi interests on the London Jewish Forum. In 2014 he was ranked by the Jewish Chronicle as no. 32 on their list of influential British Jews. He was the principal of the Yesodey Hatorah Senior Girls' School, a role in which he received praise and criticism. Pinter, a son of Rabbi Shmuel (Shmelke) Pinter, was born in Stamford Hill in 1949. David C. Driskell ‑ an artist and a scholar in the field of African-American art – died from coronavirus  on April 1, 2020.   Driskell was emeritus professor at the University of Maryland, College Park.   David Clyde Driskell was born in Eatonton, Georgia, the son of George Washington Driskell, a minister, and Mary Cloud Driskell, a homemaker.
