Debdatta Roy, the Deputy Magistrate at Chandannagar in Hooghly district of the Indian state of West Bengal – died on July 13, 2020 from Covid-19 complications. The 33-year-old was admitted to Shramojibi Covid hospital in Sreerampur on July 12, 2020 evening. She died on July 13, 2020 morning, a first senior officer of Bengal government to have succumbed to the virus, media reports said. Lester resided in Gaithersburg, Maryland and had four children – three sons and a daughter. After a successful career at the high school level, he served as the head coach of the University of Maryland football team from 1969 to 1971.
