Muncie blues musician Governor Davis has passed away after battling COVID-19 for more than a month. According to the Governor Davis Band's Facebook page, the 73-year-old died on Wednesday, Oct. 13.
A 1977 Ball State University graduate, Davis formed his own blues group, the Governor Davis Band. He went on to tour in Muncie, but in Fort Wayne, Bloomington, Indianapolis and beyond Indiana.
In the beginning of September, Davis posted on his social media account that he had been admitted to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital due to COVID-19. From there, a GoFundMe was started for him and his spouse, Gina.
