Riay Tatary, religious leader

Riay Tatary Bakry - a Syrian religious leader, chairman of the Union of Islamic Communities of Spain ‑ -  died on 6 April,2020 due to COVID-19. He was imam of the Central Mosque in Madrid, Spain, as well as president of the Islamic Commission of Spain. He was born in Damascus on 19 March 1948. He settled in Spain in 1970 and studied Medicine at the University of Oviedo. He took part in the advisory committee for Freedom of Religion of the Ministry of Justice, being endowed the Encomienda of the Order of Civil Merit in 1998. He was interned in March 2020 in the Hospital de la Paz due to COVID-19 along with his wife; Tatary died weeks later, on 6 April, at the age of 72. He was buried at the Muslim cemetery of Griñón.

Michel Parisse, historian

Michel Parisse -- a French historian who specialized in medieval studies   died on 5 April 2020 at the age of 83 due to COVID-19.  He was a professor emeritus at the University of Paris 1 Pantheon-Sorbonne. Parisse earned his agrégation in history in 1959. He earned two doctoral degrees, with the first coming in 1966. His thesis was titled Actes des évêques de Metz (1120-1179). His second doctoral degree came in 1975, with the thesis La noblesse lorraine (xie – xiiie siècle). He was a professor at Nancy 2 University from 1965 to 1993. Tchouamo Michel – an Otorhinolaryngologist in Douala, Cameroon – passed away on 3 April 2020 after suffering from COVID-19. Michel was 50 years old. According to reports from medical sources, Dr. Tchouamo Michel suffered from stage 4 of the deadly disease. He is reported to have been in dire need of respiratory assistance , but was unable to be admitted to a hospital owing to the overwhelming numbers of COVID-19 patients in hospitals. Michel Tibon-Cornillot ‑ a French philosopher and anthropologist – passed away on 28 March 2020 due to Covid-19.   He directed research at the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS). He had an interest in the evolution of technology in the field of biology, leading to his authoring of the book Les Corps transfigurés.   Tibon-Cornillot earned an agrégation and a doctorate in philosophy. He was highly interested in mathematics, and his discussions with René Thom led him to the philosophical fields of complexity and chaos.
