M.A. Momin, calligraphist

Urdu writer and Calligraphy expert M.A. Momin passed away in Hubballi on June 27 following COVID-19 related complications. He was 72. Momin -- a recipient of the Karnataka Urdu Academy award – was renowned for his Nizamat or anchoring Urdu Shayari sessions across North Karnataka districts.  Besides frequently organizing Urdu learning training courses for non-native Urdu speakers, Momin used to also conduct calligraphy training sessions for school and college students.  He was also an active member of Idara Farogh-e-Urdu Hubli, a literary organisation.

Ajit Agarwal, a cardiologist in the United Kingdom, died on April 15, 2020, due to COVID-19. He was 68. Dr Agarwal died of Covid-19 at a private hospital in the United Kingdom (UK) . A resident of India's Kanpur city, Dr Agarwal was a consultant cardiologist in London and had been in home quarantine for last several days before he was shifted to a hospital where he passed away after his lungs collapsed.
