Sanjay Dobal, a well-known club cricketer and former Delhi U-23 support staff, died on the morning of June 29, 2020, after failing to recover from COVID-19 infection. Dobal was 53 years old and is survived by his wife and two sons - elder Siddhant, who plays first-class cricket for Rajasthan and younger Ekansh, who made his debut for Delhi U-23 side. Dobal was suffering from severe pneumonia and had to go through four tests and only after three weeks did he test positive for the coronavirus, reported India Today. "Sanjay Dobal's untimely death is devastating news for the cricketing world," Vinod Tihara, DDCA Secretary said in a statement. Zafar Sarfraz a Pakistani cricketer who played in fifteen first-class and six List A matches between 1988 and 1992 for Peshawar cricket team On April 13 2020, Sarfaz died from COVID-19 complications. He retired from playing competitive cricket in 1994. Following his retirement, he became a coach and was involved with the Peshawar Under-19 cricket team. He also worked for the National Bank of Pakistan. In April 2020, Sarfaz died from COVID-19 complications. He was the first professional cricketer known to have died from coronavirus during the pandemic in Pakistan.

Lee Harvey Nurse –an English cricketer – passed away on 9 April 2020 from Covid-19 complications.   The son of Leon Nurse, he was born at Basingstoke in December 1976.
