Chato Galante, pro-democracy activist
José María Galante Serrano, best known as Chato Galante –a Spanish pro-democracy activist – succumbed to Covid-19 on 28 March 2020.
Onetime political prisoner during the Franco era, he was tortured by Antonio González Pacheco. He died after suffering from COVID-19 in March 2020, aged 71.
