Idris Bey – an Emergency Medical Technician, Instructor and Coordinator, FDNY, New York City – passed away due to COVID-19. Bey was 60 years old. Bey was a veteran of EMS, a responder to the rescue and recovery efforts at the World Trade Center, and was assigned to the FDNY EMS Bureau of Training since 2002. At the Academy at Fort Totten, EMT Bey was a CFR instructor and taught emergency medical care, the fire department said. Bey began his career assigned to Station 35 in Williamsburg in 1993. Donald Kennedy – a Neurobiologist (retired), Former President at  Stanford University; Former Chief of US FDA, Redwood City, California – passed away on 21 April, 2020, after suffering from COVID-19. Donald was 88 years old. Born Aug. 18, 1931, in New York City and educated at Harvard, he taught at Syracuse before arriving at “the Farm” in 1960 as an assistant professor. Kennedy climbed the ranks to become chair of the school’s biology department and helped create and, for a time, directed Stanford’s interdisciplinary human biology program. From 2000 to 2008, Kennedy served as editor in chief of the journal Science. He later returned to teaching undergraduates and served on the boards of numerous nonprofits and scientific organizations. ...

Tom Mulholland ‑ a Gaelic footballer who played senior football for Kilkerley Emmets, Louth and Leinster – died from Covid-19 on 20 April 2020. He was also honorary president of the Kilkerley Emmets club. Mulholland lived in the village of Kilkerley, near Dundalk, where he was a dairy farmer. He had six sisters and one brother. He was married in 1968 and had eight children. Some of his children played football and camogie at various levels. Mulholland pursued his involvement in athletics until he was in his seventies. After an outbreak of COVID-19 at Dealgan House Nursing Home (where he resided), Mulholland was admitted to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where he died on 20 April 2020.
