He was a professional DJ well-known in the country music scene. According to a GoFundMe page set up for Chupp's wife and family, Chupp passed away in the morning of July 12, 2020, due to complications from the coronavirus. According to the honor guard, Rumler worked his entire 24-year career at the Gus Harrison Correctional Facility in Adrian. In recent years he worked in food service at the facility.
