Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa ‑ a Sikh Hazoori Ragi of Darbar Sahib in Amritsar, Punjab, India – succumbed to Covid-19 virus on 2 April 2020. Bhai Nirmal Singh was born on 12 April 1952, at village Jandwala Bhimeshah in Ferozepur, Punjab. In 1976, he graduated with a diploma in Gurmat Sangeet from Shaheed Missionary College in Amritsar. From 1977 to 1978, he served as a music teacher at Gurmat College in Rishikesh and later taught at Shaheed Sikh Missionary College in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan. From 1979, he started serving as a Hazoori Ragi at Darbar Sahib. He had performed Kirtan at all five Takhts, various historical Gurdwaras across South Asia and throughout 71 countries. Gita Ramjee ‑ a Ugandan-South African scientist and researcher in HIV prevention – died of Covid-19 on 31 March 2020. In 2018, she was awarded the ‘Outstanding Female Scientist’ award from the European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership. She died in Umhlanga, Durban, South Africa, from COVID-19 related complications. Sister Sienna, septuagenarian nun

Sister Sienna died on April 1, 2020 Sister Sienna, a 73-year-old Indian member of the Missionaries of Charity in the United Kingdom, was admitted to Morriston Hospital in Swansea with complications of the viral infection and succumbed to the illness on April 1, 2020. The septuagenarian nun was working with the poor and destitute in Swansea, Wales, some 300 km west of London. She was involved in distributing food packets for those affected by the recent outbreak of coronavirus.
