Ajay Joshi, an Indore-based doctor who treated hundreds of coronavirus patients since the outbreak of the pandemic, had tested positive for the deadly virus on May 23 and was admitted to city's Choithram Hospital the next day.
After batting the infection for over two weeks, Dr Joshi died at the hospital in the morning of June 10, 2020.
Dr Joshi, who was the head of department of surgery and medical superintendent of Index Medical College in Madhya Pradesh's Indore, was 57 years old.
Dr Amit Bhatt, Deputy Director of Choitram Hospital said, "Dr Ajay Joshi was shifted to the ICU on May 29 and his condition kept deteriorating. He finally lost the battle against COVID-19 today."

J Anbazhagan, a MLA from India’s Tamil Nadu who had tested positive for coronavirus, died in a hospital in Chennai in the morning of June 10, 2020.
Anbazhagan, 61, a DMK MLA, was admitted to hospital on June 2 over "severe acute respiratory distress" and had tested positive for COVID-19 at the time, reported NDTV.
He was put on ventilator support on June 3 when his breathing trouble worsened. He was fighting acute pneumonia and his condition deteriorated on Monday evening, according to Dr Rela Institute and Medical Centre, where he was being treated, highlighted NDTV’s J Sam Daniel Stalin.
His cardiac function dropped and a chronic kidney disease also contributed to his critical condition.

PK Muhammad, a Kannur Iritty native, died on June 10, 2020, after battling with coronavirus. He was under treatment for cancer.
The 70-year-old was tested positive for COVID-19 on June 10 and shifted to the hospital. Following this, he breathed his last at the hospital.
Muhammad returned from Muscat via Kannur airport on May 22. Though the health workers directed him to observe quarantine at the hospital, he refused to follow it and went to his son’s house at Koothuparamaba.
Following this, police registered a case against him for violating the directions.

Wali Akhtar Nadwi, who was serving as the head of the Arabic department at the University of Delhi, succumbed to Covid-19 on June 9, 2020.
As many as six private hospitals in Delhi and Noida had allegedly refused to admit the professor stating various reasons.
On June 2, Akhtar had developed a fever flowing which the members of his family approached at least six hospitals including Fortis Hospital, Delhi’s Bansal Hospital, Moolchand Hospital and Holy Family hospital in Delhi and Kailash Hospital in neighbouring Noida in UP.
The hospitals allegedly refused admission to him. While some hospitals refused admission citing non-availability of beds others said that they were not admitting patients having fever, according to a report by Muslim Mirror.

Shivaji Mishra, an English teacher at a government school in Kalyan Niwas, died of Covid-19 on June 7, 2020.
Mishra, 48, was also working at a food distribution centre.
His son Piyush Mishra said that his father developed symptoms of Covid-19 around June 1.
“On June 2 his condition worsened and we took him to a private hospital in Mandoli. He tested positive for Covid last Thursday, following which the hospital asked us to shift him to a Covid designated hospital. We shifted him to Safdurjaung hospital on Friday, where he was shifted to ICU. He succumbed on Sunday (June 7, 2020),” he said.
