Koppana Mohana Rao, former Minister and senior YSR Congress Party leader died of COVID-19 late on the night of July 29, 2020. He was 75 years old. A native of Mallam village in Pithapuram mandal, he is survived by a daughter and a son. Mohana Rao, who was elected from the Pithapuram Assembly constituency in East Godavari district twice, had served as the Forest Minister. Mohana Rao was declared brought dead when he was taken to the Government General Hospital in Kakinada from another hospital. V. Balan -- former Puducherry nominated legislator and general secretary of All India N R Congress -- died on July 27, 2020, days after he tested for COVID-19, at a private hospital. Director of Health and Family Welfare S. Mohan Kumar, said the 68-year-old leader was admitted to the hospital last week with symptoms of novel coronavirus.
