Francesco Saverio Pavone –an Italian magistrate, chief of the Procura di Venezia for several years – died of Covid-19 on 16 March 2020.   Born in Taranto on March 25, 1944, he worked for several years as a clerk of the court, where he had won a competitive examination in the late 1970s. In 1980 he took up service in the courthouse in Venice, first in the role of judge in the court and then as prosecutor. Sergio Bassi –an Italian folk singer-songwriter – died from Covid-19 on 16 March 2020.   Sergio was raised by his maternal grandparents in a small hamlet in Codogno, Lombardy. After adulthood, he moved to Legnano, later to Piacenza, then he lived in San Francesco al Campo for seven years. Later, he returned to his hometown.   During the COVID-19 pandemic in Italy, he contracted novel coronavirus. On 16 March, he died from the infection in Crema.

Vittorio Gregotti –an Italian architect, born in Novara – died due to coronavirus on 15 March 2020.   He was seen as both a member of the Neo-Avant Garde and a key figure in 1970s Postmodernism.   Gregotti was born in Novara, in the Italian Piedmont, and attended the Politecnico di Milano. Piero Schlesinger Knight Grand Cross OMRI (19 May 1930 – 14 March 2020) was an Italian jurist, banker, lawyer and academic who served as president of the Banca Popolare di Milano from 1971 to 1993.   Piero Schlesinger graduated in jurisprudence in Turin. Giovanni Battista Rabino –an Italian politician from the Christian Democracy party who served as member of the Chamber of Deputies from 1983 to 1992, then a single term, between 1992 and 1994, as Senator – died of Covid-19 on 12 March 2020.   He was born in Montaldo Scarampi, and served as mayor of the city between 2004 and 2009. Before his political career, Rabino was a trade unionist, active in Alessandria's Coldiretti branch.   Rabino died from COVID-19 at the Cardinal Massaja Hospital in Asti on 12 March 2020. His funeral was held two days later.
